Between birth and age three, children rapidly achieve many important milestones that create the foundation for later growth and development. Children depend on adults to provide support as they begin to learn and understand the world around them. In this session, we will look at the role the caregiver plays in helping to foster children's learning and development. We will explore how to be responsive to a child’s cues and providing support as children develop initiative, curiosity, imagination, persistence, which are necessary to explore the world around them and gain a sense of self and a feeling of belonging to a group. We will discuss strategies and activities to support communication, language, and physical development while engaging with infants and toddlers.

This training is presented through a partnership between SPARK Learning Lab and Lakeshore®. A meal will be served, and all attendees will receive a materials kit to use with the children in your program!

The ASQ is an essential first step toward identifying children with delays or disorders in the critical early years.

    July 29, 2023

    This is an IN-PERSON training!!
    CASY, 1101 S 13th St, 2nd Floor, Terre Haute, IN 47802
    County- Vigo
Face to Face training: Double-check the LOCATION of the session before registering!

We will explore how self-regulation development can be supported both at home and in the classroom. We will discuss how to proactively teach social emotional literacy, rather than being reactive to unwanted behaviors. We will discuss emotional awareness to help children recognize and understand their own feelings and actions as well as those of others. We will also learn how to help children become aware of how our feelings and actions affect ourselves and others. Finally, we will discuss the importance of self-regulation and learn how to support children in being able to express their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in socially appropriate ways and to work through conflict with others.

This training is presented through a partnership between SPARK Learning Lab and Lakeshore®. A meal will be served, and all attendees will receive a materials kit to use with the children in your program!
