Language acquisition is one the most important development accomplishments of childhood. For Dual Language Learners, this can be especially difficult as they work to master both their home language and English. As teachers, we must provide support for the child and family. In this session, we will learn about the levels of language acquisition and develop questions that are appropriate for each level. Through hands-on activities and collaboration, we will explore instructional strategies that support the language development of Dual Language Learners. We will also discover ways to support Dual Language Learners through our environment! Here’s the great news...these strategies are appropriate to use with all children!
