Join Steve Veihweg to learn more about the CDC's Learn the Signs. Act Early training hosted by SPARK Learning Lab. Learn how this training can provide resources to increase family engagement and promote developmental monitoring and screening. Representatives from Indiana's Child Care Resource and Referral agencies will also share information about how they can assist and be of service for families in your early learning program.

June 14, 2023Universal precautions training is required for all staff working in regulated child care programs. Early childhood professionals need to be knowledgeable about how to prevent disease transmission in the early childhood setting, including those spread through contact with blood and other potentially infectious bodily fluids. Universal precautions are measures taken in order to safely handle bodily fluids, blood, and airborne secretions to reduce the chance of infection and transmission of diseases to staff or children in child care settings.

Participants will evaluate their own physical environment and conduct an audit on 2 current learning centers of their choice. Participants will examine the connection between learning environments and behavior and proactively plan modifications to their classroom management techniques and physical environment to refresh learning centers, increase child engagement, and reduce challenging behaviors. **To get the most out of this webinar, we highly recommend you come with images or a diagram of your environment.

In this session, participants will discover simple meditation practice to flex the muscles of the mind, and cultivate a mentally resilient mindset no matter their current circumstances. Participants will also explore the power of connection to nurture and build resilience through a wide range of interactions in their personal and professional lives.
