During this session, you will learn fun ways to support the language and literacy development of infants and toddlers through effective and simple strategies. We will review and discuss ideas for hands-on activities, songs, rhymes, finger plays, read alouds and more to be added to your bag of tricks, to keep your children learning and engaged while having fun!
This training is presented through a partnership between SPARK Learning Lab and Lakeshore®. A meal will be served, and all attendees will receive a materials kit to use with the children in your program!

Lakeshore®: Promoting Positive Behaviors: Environment, Routines & Relationships for School Age Children (HENDRICKS COUNTY)

Face to Face training: Double-check the LOCATION of the session before registering!
In this session, we will dive into the components of a high-quality supportive environment, and how to ensure that our environment is set up in a way that promotes engagement and positive, on-task behavior. We will take the time to evaluate our learning environment for any “hot spots” and plan for any needed changes. We will also discuss the importance of establishing clear and consistent routines and procedures for students to understand the expectations and to promote their success. We will also learn the importance of developing nurturing and responsive relationships with each child to support their social emotional development and discuss how to proactively teach social emotional literacy, rather than being reactive to unwanted behaviors.
This training is presented through a partnership between SPARK Learning Lab and Lakeshore®. A meal will be served, and all attendees will receive a materials kit to use with the children in your program!

En esta sesión, profundizaremos en los componentes de un entorno de apoyo de alta calidad y en cómo garantizar que nuestro entorno esté configurado de manera que promueva el compromiso y el comportamiento positivo en la tarea. Nos tomaremos el tiempo para evaluar nuestro entorno de aprendizaje en busca de "puntos calientes" y planificar los cambios necesarios. También discutiremos la importancia de establecer rutinas y procedimientos claros y consistentes para que los estudiantes entiendan las expectativas y promuevan su éxito. También aprenderemos la importancia de desarrollar relaciones enriquecedoras y receptivas con cada niño para apoyar su desarrollo socioemocional y discutiremos cómo enseñar de manera proactiva la literatura socioemocional, en lugar de ser reactivos a comportamientos no deseados.
